Climate Change & Human Health – Environmental Health Training
Background
Environmental risks to health account for nearly one quarter of the global disease burden. Decision-makers must understand key environmental exposures, exposure–disease links, and effective interventions to create healthier environments.
Environmental health is a critical component of disease prevention. This course introduces participants to environmental health, covering climate change, air pollution, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), chemicals, and other environmental risks.
A specialized module focuses on climate change and human health, explaining how climate variability and climate change directly affect health and how mitigation and adaptation policies can generate health co-benefits.
