Gender, Conflicts and Human Rights
International Training on Gender-Responsive Peacebuilding & Human Rights Protection
Course Background
Gender plays a critical role in shaping experiences during armed conflicts, influencing vulnerability, access to resources, and participation in decision-making. Women, girls, and marginalized gender groups are often disproportionately affected by violence, displacement, and human rights violations, yet they remain central to peacebuilding and conflict resolution.
This ECAS Institute course examines the intersection of gender, conflict, and human rights through international legal frameworks such as UNSCR Women, Peace and Security (WPS), CEDAW, and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
