International Training on Gender, Conflicts & Human Rights
Capacity Building Program | ECAS Institute
Course Background
Gender significantly shapes experiences in conflict situations, affecting vulnerabilities, access to resources, and decision-making. Women, girls, and marginalized gender groups are often disproportionately affected by human rights violations in conflicts but also play critical roles in peacebuilding and advocacy.
This ECAS Institute course explores the intersection of gender, armed conflicts, and human rights. Participants will engage with international legal frameworks, including UN Security Council Resolutions on Women, Peace, and Security (WPS), CEDAW, and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, to develop gender-responsive conflict interventions.
