BACKGROUND

The Environmental Capacities and Sustainability (ECAS) Institute is dedicated to enhancing sustainable development through environmental resilience, resource efficiency, and capacity building. Agriculture is one of the most vulnerable sectors to climate change, facing challenges such as unpredictable weather patterns, soil degradation, water scarcity, and declining crop yields. Without sustainable practices, food security and rural livelihoods are at risk.

This course has been developed by ECAS to equip agricultural professionals, policymakers, and development practitioners with climate-smart strategies to enhance resilience in food production. The training integrates sustainable land and water management, climate adaptation techniques, and innovative agricultural technologies to ensure long-term food security. Participants will learn how to implement climate-resilient farming systems, reduce agricultural emissions, and promote sustainable value chains in response to the growing impacts of climate change.

Through a combination of scientific approaches, practical solutions, and policy frameworks, this course aims to empower stakeholders in the agriculture sector with the skills to mitigate climate risks, enhance productivity, and ensure sustainable food systems.
