INTERNATIONAL TRAINING ON COMMUNITY ENERGY AMBASSADORS COURSE
COURSE BACKGROUND
Energy communities are increasingly recognized as vital instruments for fostering an energy system that benefits both people and the planet. As the drive towards decentralized and sustainable energy solutions gains momentum, there is a growing need to equip aspiring organizers with the knowledge and tools to establish and nurture such initiatives within their local areas. This requires a blend of theoretical understanding, practical skills, and insights into policy landscapes and inherent challenges.
ECAS Institute is proud to announce registrations for its annual Community Energy Ambassadors course. This program is specifically designed to provide a stepping stone for individuals eager to initiate their own energy communities. We aim to empower participants by covering essential theoretical aspects, including relevant policy frameworks and common challenges, alongside critical practical skills such as community engagement and movement building.
Throughout the course, participants will actively develop their own community energy projects, culminating in a final presentation. By fostering a diverse group of participants and providing comprehensive guidance, ECAS seeks to cultivate a new generation of community energy organizers who can drive the transition towards a more equitable and sustainable energy future.
COURSE OBJECTIVES OF THE TRAINING
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the theoretical aspects and policy frameworks surrounding community energy projects.
- Identify and navigate the challenges faced by community energy initiatives in the current landscape.
- Acquire practical skills in community engagement and movement building for energy projects.
- Develop the foundational steps for setting up an energy community in their local area.
- Formulate and present the initial ideas for their own community energy project.
