COURSE BACKGROUND

International negotiations on climate change play a crucial role in shaping global policies, agreements, and commitments to combat climate challenges. The complexity of these negotiations arises from diverse national interests, economic priorities, and political considerations, making climate diplomacy a highly strategic process.

The Environmental Capacities and Sustainability (ECAS) Institute offers this course to equip participants with an in-depth understanding of climate negotiation processes, tools, and strategies used in international forums such as the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the Paris Agreement, and Conference of the Parties (COP) meetings.

This course provides practical insights into negotiation techniques, conflict resolution, stakeholder engagement, and policy analysis to help professionals navigate climate diplomacy effectively.
