INTERNATIONAL TRAINING ON CLIMATE ADVOCACY: STEPS TO INDIVIDUAL, COMMUNITY, AND POLITICAL ACTION
BACKGROUND
The Environmental Capacities and Sustainability (ECAS) Institute is dedicated to building knowledge and expertise in climate action, sustainability, and environmental governance. As climate change continues to impact ecosystems, economies, and societies, the need for strong advocacy has never been more critical. Advocacy serves as a bridge between climate science, policy, and public engagement, ensuring that urgent climate issues remain at the forefront of decision-making processes.
The course, “Climate Advocacy: Steps to Individual, Community, and Political Action,” is designed to empower individuals and organizations with the skills needed to effectively advocate for climate policies, mobilize communities, and drive systemic change. The course addresses key elements of climate advocacy, including grassroots mobilization, media engagement, policy lobbying, and digital activism. It provides participants with an in-depth understanding of climate science, justice, and governance, ensuring they are well-equipped to influence public discourse and decision-making.
As climate change becomes an increasingly urgent global issue, policymakers, activists, and organizations must collaborate to push for ambitious climate policies and solutions. By integrating storytelling, strategic communication, public engagement, and lobbying techniques, the course equips participants with the necessary skills to lead climate campaigns and influence policies effectively.
